Meet the Teachers

Terri Fortin

Director/Instructor

Terri has been operating her own school since 1981.  Before opening her own school, Terri taught at the Ashenden School of Dance, Drama & Music in Holbrook, MA.  She was solely responsible for the teaching and choreography of the Beginner I, II, Intermediate, and advanced classes.  During her high school and college years, Terri appeared in many musicals and variety shows.  She attended Marietta College as an early childhood development major and choreographed two musicals while there.  She has had much experience in all aspects of theater as well as stage production.  She is pleased and proud to beginning her 39th year at Terri’s School of Dance.

Michal Mangan
Associate Instructor

Michal was born in Alburquerque, NM where she began dancing at the age of two.  She's trained in all styles from Ballet to Flamenco, to Musical Theatre, has studied with some of the biggest names in the industry, and has won multiple awards and scholarships from various competitions.  Michael was accepted into Boston Ballet's Pre-Professional Program at the age of 15.  After 2 years with the school she was offered a Traineeship with the company where she performed in multiple Boston Ballet productions such as the Nutcracker, Romeo and Juilet, and Sleeping Beauty.  Since her traineeship, Michal has partaken in projects around New England and has been featured in movies, videos, TV shows, and commercials filmed around the area.

Kristin Litchfield

Kristin started dancing here at Terri’s at the age of two.  She also danced with the Boston Ballet School for nine years, performing annually in Boston Ballet’s production of “The Nutcracker” at the Wang Center , dancing a variety of roles.  She attended Roger Williams University as a dance major.  She has performed as a featured dancer in the following musicals – “Fame”, “The Music Man”, “Anything Goes”, “Guys and Dolls”, “Godspell”, “42nd Street”, "Cabaret" & "Chicago".  She has been teaching here at Terri’s since 1996.  She and her husband Matt Litchfield (also a Terri’s alumnus) reside in Whitman with their two children – Will and Aila.

Meghan Rowan
Associate Instructor

Meghan also started dancing here at Terri’s at the age of two.  She continued her dance studies while attending Elon University as an Elementary Education major.  She had the privledge of studying under Gene Medler and learning the art of rhythm tap dance.  While at Elon, she also had the opportunity to take master classes including a class with the late Geoffrey Holder.  She has performed as a featured dancer in many musicals and has had the opportunity to choreograph several musical perfromances.   Meghan has been teaching at Terri's on and off since 2003.  She also was an associate instructor at Attitude Dance Company in Athlone, Ireland.   She teaches at the Old Colony Montessori School in Hingham, where she resides with her husband Tom and their three children – Emelyn, Oisin, and Hattie.

Diana Byrne Gossard
Associate Instructor

Diana, a South Shore native, is a Terri's School of Dance alumnus enrolling first as a teenager. It was at Terri's where she discovered her love of dance and made some lifelong friendships. After high school, Diana attended UMass Amherst majoring in Education and African American studies, however she continued her dance education through the 5 colleges studying ballet, jazz, modern, West African, ballroom, and Lindy Hop swing. After college, Diana worked and studied at the Dance Complex in Cambridge and began performing and teaching ballroom and Lindy Hop. Diana is especially interested in Vernacular Jazz dance styles and she is currently studying genres under the hip hop umbrella. Diana spent a decade in teaching roles in Boston and Natick as a math specialist, kindergarten teacher, and second grade teacher. These days, you can occasionally see Diana performing in local musical theater productions or teaching zumba on the south shore. Diana lives in Hingham with her husband Andy and two children, Lucy and Kerry James.
